Martin Simonsen created yet another magic moment on Himmerland Hill with a brilliant hole-in-one on the opening day of the Made in Denmark presented by FREJA.

The short 16th at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort has gained a reputation as of one of the most exciting holes on the European Tour, with 3,000 fans packing onto the bank to see the players come through.

It was playing just 96 yards on Thursday when local favourite Simonsen - playing on an invite - holed a 54 degree wedge to win both himself and his caddie a cart from Garia Luxury Golf Carts worth 275,000 krone.

"That was amazing," he said. "All Danish players especially dream about making a hole-in-one over there. There's no place I'd rather do it than here. I'm very, very pleased.

"I knew I had to give it a good go because of the wind and everything and I managed, it made it six feet past and spun back in.

"I have four holes-in-one now in tournament golf but it's the first time I've won anything."
