America's Xander Schauffele will tee it up in Germany for the first time after confirming he will tee it up at the Porsche European Open from September 5-8.

The current World Number Nine finished second to Tiger Woods at Augusta National in just his third appearance at The Masters and has impressed over the last 12 months having finished runner-up to Francesco Molinari at The Open and also tied sixth at the U.S. Open.

The four-time PGA Tour winner, who has German roots, is excited to play in the Porsche European Open for the first time as the tournament returns to Green Eagle Golf Courses in Hamburg for the third consecutive year.

“I’m really looking forward to the Porsche European Open in Hamburg, I’ve heard it’s a great event in a fantastic city.”

 “It will be particularly special for me playing in Germany for the first time, it’s a country close to my heart as my father is from there.”

Championship Director Richard Atkinson said: "Hamburg is a city of sporting enthusiasts and, alongside our title sponsor Porsche, we are excited to be returning to Green Eagle Courses with a world-class field and entertainment in September.

“After his excellent performance at the Masters Tournament last week, we are looking forward to seeing World Number Nine Xander Schauffele play in Germany for the first time. The American has made big strides in the last 12 months and he will be one of the players to watch in September.

“This tournament has a bright future and we have a vision to see it grow into one of the most prominent European Tour events in continental Europe over the next few years.”
