Rahm wins July Shot of the Month

The Spaniard's eagle at Portstewart was voted the best shot from the month of July.

July was a special month for Jon Rahm. A top ten on his HNA Open de France debut was followed up with a remarkable six-shot victory at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open hosted by the Rory Foundation. And now, the Spaniard has won the European Tour Shot of the Month for July.

Fans on Twitter have spoken and voted Rahm's hole-out on the fourth hole of the final round as the Shot of the Month. The 22 year old beat out close competition from fellow Spaniard Rafa Cabrera-Bello as well as holes in one from Ryan Fox and Marcel Siem. Over 36 percent of fans voted for Rahm's shot to win.

Starting the final round at Portstewart tied with American Daniel Im, Rahm found himself in the fairway on the fourth hole with a two-shot lead and an approach of 150 yards. As the rain continued to fall, the leader doubled his lead with a perfect nine iron.

"It was clearly a turning point." Rahm said. "It gave me a huge boost. It changed the trajectory of the whole round. It's a shot I will never forget."
