In July 2026, the Genesis Scottish Open will return to The Renaissance Club. The Genesis Scottish Open aims to provide an enjoyable spectator experience for all individuals.

The Accessibility Guide is designed to help anyone with accessibility requirements. It can answer your questions about travel and facilities, plus there is a map that shows the location of accessible toilets and wheelchair access around the venue.

Getting to the Renaissance Club

Drop Off for Blue Badge Holders

Accessible drop-off location is at the main gate to The Renaissance Club. Taxi and Private Vehicle drop-off will only be permitted on presentation of a Blue Badge Pass.   

There is a covered Accessibility waiting area and this will be serviced by a buggy shuttle service to the Event Mobility tent. The Accessibility Team members will be on hand to greet you at the Event Mobility tent to assist you on arrival.

Accessible Blue Badge Parking

Accessibility parking is Car Park 2, a short distance from the FAN Zone entrance.

There is not a requirement to prebook blue badge parking, however there will be a checking process in place on site (Blue Badge Validity date/Photo ID) on the gate prior to entry. Please present your Blue Badge to access on arrival.

Ticketing Policy

The DP World Tour enjoys welcoming all spectators to its events and to help persons with accessibility needs to attend and enjoy the Genesis Scottish Open the following ticketing policies are in place:

To assist us in allocating accessibility resources, we may ask to see a copy of a relevant documents such as a blue badge/ID or disability-related benefit.

CARER - Ticket holders who require a carer to assist them are entitled to receive one free carer ticket to the event. This complimentary carer ticket can only be ordered online as an add on following the purchase of the ticket. The carer ticket will be identified on the scanner at time of entry.

The Ticket Office is located at the FAN ZONE entrance arch and your tickets will be scanned at this point.  The route up to the Ticket Office from Accessible Parking CP2 will consist of fairly-level grass terrain.

Security Check and Entrance

On arrival at the venue, proceed to Bag Check.  The route leading to the Bag Check tent will be on fairly level grass terrain.

The security check will include a bag search to check for prohibited items.  Folding chairs for personal use will be allowed.

Those with Accessibility requirements may avoid the queues and join the fast-track Bag Check Lane.

There is not a bag drop facility at this event.

Event Mobility

Event Mobility (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) will be providing electric mobility scooters (£35) and manual wheelchairs (£15) for hire at this event for the use of mobility impaired, disabled and elderly visitors.  They will be located at the entrance next to Bag Check, before entering into the FAN ZONE. It will be clearly signposted from Car Park 2.

Spectators can also pick them up on the day, however, there is a limited amount of equipment available so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Privately owned wheelchairs and other motorised mobility scooters/chairs are allowed on the tournament grounds; however, we encourage you to use Event Mobility.  Golf carts are not permitted.

Please note that the liability of using mobility scooters will remain with the user and this should be considered when accessing areas of the golf course.

Information & Accessibility Services/Access Team

The Team is located at the Information & Accessibility tent, inside the venue beside the FAN ZONE entrance arch.  We offer a dedicated Accessibility Team who are able to support guests with physical or hidden disabilities and can answer access questions you might have. You can also collect access resources here.

Internal Accessible Buggy Shuttle

This service is only for the less able and elderly who have difficulty walking long distances.  It is a limited 6-seater buggy shuttle service and operates from 6 stops located around the course.

Note: A Vulnerable wristband is required for this service, these can be collected at the Information & Accessibility tent near to the FAN ZONE Village entrance arch.

Spectator Viewing Areas

Accessible spectator viewing is available in dedicated locations around the course from behind the rope line. Please take care on rough and sloping ground and be aware that some areas may become soft and/or slippery in wet conditions. Marshals are briefed to ask the crowd to allow spectators with an impairment to access the front of the rope line where possible.

The wheelchair viewing areas can become congested especially on Championship Days, but we aim to accommodate as best we can.  Please ask a marshal for assistance, if required.

Can I bring a folding chair

Yes, you can bring a folding chair for your personal use.

The FAN ZONE Village and oncourse catering areas offer picnic bench style seating.  These areas are on open grass terrain.

Grandstands

There are a limited number of reserved seating spaces on the grandstands for those with accessibility requirements.

Access will be on a first-come first-served basis and also be available to accompanying carers (max of one).

*All grandstands are free of charge on a first come first served basis, apart from on Saturday and Sunday, where the 18th grandstand is partially reserved. Any available, will be on a 1st come 1st served basis. We advise that you take your seat in the grandstand before 5:30pm. After this time, all seating will become unreserved, and you will not be guaranteed a seat.

Accessible Toilet & Baby Changing Facilities

Accessible toilet facilities are available at all toilet locations.  Each accessible toilet contains a sink and baby changing table.

Vulnerable Person Wristband

Available from ticketing staff and at the Information and Accessibility tent at the entrance to the FAN ZONE village.

To help us maintain our safeguarding of children at this event, children under the age of 12 are required to wear a vulnerable person wristband.  This is also extended to those attending the event with vulnerable adults. A contact number and as much or as little additional information as you wish can be written on the inside of the wristband.

Sunflower Lanyards

We recognise sunflower lanyards that represent a hidden disability that might not be visible to see. They are for people who want to let us know that they may need some extra help, time or assistance. When you wear your sunflower lanyard, a member of staff may ask you if there is anything we can do to help you.

There is no qualifying list of hidden disabilities. If you have a hidden disability and feel that you would benefit from wearing a sunflower lanyard, please do.

Visually Impaired Spectators

Certified Assistance Dogs that are trained by members of Assistance Dogs (UK) are welcomed to the Grounds. Please note that they must be always kept on the lead.

Quiet Room

There will be a Quiet room located near to the FAN ZONE village and the key can be obtained from the Information & Accessibility tent.

The Championship wants to be a safe and happy place for everyone to enjoy. However, the size of the site and the large crowds mixed in with all the different sounds, lights, and experiences can be overwhelming especially for customers with mental health, emotional and sensory issues or mothers nursing their babies.

Food & Beverage Facilities

There will be a wide variety of food & beverage offerings, on the course and in the FAN ZONE Village, near to the main public entrance. These mobile food units will have the capacity to cater for wheelchair users. Please ask a member of staff if you require assistance accessing the counter.

The locations of all catering facilities will be shown on the spectator map once published.

We do allow individual small, packed lunches and a soft drink to be brought into the venue.

No picnic hampers or picnic trollies to be brought into the venue.  It is forbidden to bring alcoholic beverages and glass bottles of any kind into the site.

Specific Dietary Restriction

We do recommend that you bring your own food on site if you have a specific food allergy or intolerance.

More information on the Show Stage and full range of activities in the FAN ZONE Village will be made available in due course. Located in the heart of the FAN ZONE Village, there will be a diverse programme of entertainment from Thursday to Sunday.

Official Merchandise Store

The Genesis Scottish Open Official Merchandise Store it is located within the FAN ZONE Village area which is on flat grass terrain.

Floor assistants are available to assist customers if required.  Wheelchair accessible fitting rooms are available in the store.

The flooring within the store is carpeted and the area is well lit. On entry to the Store there will be both step and wide ramp access while the store is on one level with good access to all displays.

We are a cashless event, so please bring a credit/debit card.

Hospitality

Hospitality access at the Genesis Scottish Open will accommodate ramp and/or lift access.

Lost & Found

If someone has lost a personal item or found an item belonging to someone else, please report this to the Information & Accessibility tent located in the FAN ZONE Village, next to the venue entrance.

First Aid Point

The First Aid point is situated on the right-hand side of the main entrance arch to the FAN ZONE village. If you need first aid assistance, please inform an Official, Steward or Marshal.

The Course & Emergency Evacuation Procedures

Spectators can move freely around the golf course but please stay outside the ropes. Controlled crossing points, which are clearly marked by signposts and manned by course Marshals, should be used when crossing fairways.

Inclement Weather

Observe the leaderboards and big screens throughout the golf course for weather warning signs that will appear prior to inclement weather moving into the area. Spectators are advised to take precautions PRIOR to play being suspended. If the siren sounds, seek shelter immediately, avoiding the following:

If it is necessary to evacuate the site, please follow the instructions of the course marshals, volunteers and event officials in an orderly fashion.
