100 Days To Go until the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open

Today, Tuesday March 28, marks exactly 100 days to go until the 2017 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Hosted by the Rory Foundation at Portstewart Golf Club.

On the morning of Thursday July 6, the first tee shot will be struck in what will be the biggest and most lucrative edition of the island of Ireland’s historic national open, with the home hero Rory McIlroy set to defend the title he won so majestically in 2016.

The four-time Major Champion delighted the home fans at the K Club last year with stunning approach shots at the 16th and 18th holes helping him to a three-shot victory over Scotland’s Russell Knox and former winner Bradley Dredge of Wales.

McIlroy will be joined at Portstewart this year by fellow former Dubai Duty Free Irish Open champions Padraig Harrington and Shane Lowry as well as many of the world’s most famous golfing superstars.

As part of the prestigious Rolex Series, this year’s event will carry with a significantly-increased prize fund of US$7million, which will be matched by an enhanced fan experience outside of the ropes and an improved broadcast and digital media package.

Both times the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open visited Northern Irish shores – at Royal Portrush in 2012 and Royal County Down in 2015 – tickets sold out completely, so make sure to act quickly to avoid disappointment.

Tickets are on sale atwww.dubaidutyfreeirishopen.com, and begin at £20 for Pro-Am Wednesday, with tickets for Thursday and Friday costing £40 and day tickets for the weekend costing £45.

An adult season souvenir ticket, which covers five days of world class golf from Wednesday to Sunday, costs just £100 (a saving of £90 over the course of the five days).

Concessions are available for customers aged over 60 and between 16 and 21, while children up to 16 are permitted free entry when accompanied by a ticket holding adult.

To get a full seated view of all of the drama at the 18th green, grandstand tickets cost an additional £11.50 for Thursday and Friday, £16.50 for Saturday and £21.50 for Sunday.
