Held at The K Club in County Kildare, the $6 million tournament is the third of nine events in a ten-week stretch that form Phase Two of the Race to Dubai schedule.

Three members of the 2025 European Ryder Cup team are among those teeing it up, including past champions Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry.

Tyrrell Hatton is the other member of Luke Donald's side in action, while the presence of Brooks Koepka, Jhonattan Vegas, Thomas Detry and Christiaan Bezuidenhout highlight the calibre of the international field.

There is no defending champion, with Rasmus Højgaard opting to miss the event as he takes a pause in his schedule in the lead up to his rookie Ryder Cup appearance later this month.

From insight into the week’s most-picked players among Fantasy managers, to our ones to watch, we run the rule ahead of Thursday’s deadline to pick your team.

Who are the most picked players?

With a fourth Ryder Cup appearance just around the corner, Tyrrell Hatton returns to DP World Tour action this week as one of the star players teeing it up. While he has missed the cut in his last four appearances at the Irish Open, he did finish in a tie for fifth when he last played at The K Club in 2016. He is the most picked player, featuring in 89% of teams.

Shane Lowry, a Ryder Cup team-mate, is second at 86%, while Marco Penge is third at 43%, while Rory McIlroy and Thomas Detry round out the top five for popularity at 34% and 30% respectively.

Who are our ones to watch?

Here, we pick out three players in action this week who are worth considering for your Fantasy team selections.

Favourite - Rory McIlroy

The reigning Race to Dubai champion returns to the site of his first professional victory on Irish soil this week. Back in 2016, he produced a stunning birdie-par-eagle finish to win the island of Ireland’s national open by three strokes. Across his six counting appearance on this season's Race to Dubai, he has finished in the top ten on four occassions and won the Masters to complete the career Grand Slam. After a one-week break since the Tour Championship on the PGA TOUR, he begins his final preparations in the build up to the Ryder Cup at Bethpage with the aim of boosting his chances of winning the Harry Vardon Trophy for a seventh time.

Form Horse - Marco Penge

Readers of this weekly feature might be becoming bored of seeing us mention Marco Penge but how can you possibly ignore him! A two-time winner on Tour this season, he sits second on the Race to Dubai Rankings. He picked up his sixth top ten - and third in a row - at the weekend in Switzlerland, with just Martin Couvra and Haotong Li boasting more (7). While it was at a different venue, he finished in a tie for 12th at last year's Irish Open and will relish the chance to perform in a high-calibre field after impressing in his Major debut at the US PGA Championship and on the Rolex Series stage at the Genesis Scottish Open earlier in the season.

Wild Card - Joakim Lagergren

While we might be playing over the North course this week, the Swede has fond memories of The K Club having won over the South course at the Irish Challenge on his way to graduating back onto the DP World Tour from the HotelPlanner Tour. This season, he made a long-awaited Major debut at the U.S. Open and came close to a second DP World Tour title with a runner-up finish at the KLM Open. Back inside the world's top 200 after a top ten in Switzerland, confidence should be high as he targets as strong finish to the campaign by continuing to climb the Race to Dubai Rankings and claim a spot at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.

Despite being a past champion, Lawrence was surprisingly only the 18th most picked player. But for the 1525 Fantasy players or 4.64% of the users who selected him, they were rewarded with 238 points. Of those, 49 made him their Captain, resulting in 238 points.

Matt Fitzpatrick, our Favourite, birdied three of his final four holes to finish solo fifth, Form Horse Alex Noren missed the cut by one shot, while Wild Card Mike Lorenzo-Vera missed the cut in his 285th and final start on the DP World Tour.
