Casey Jarvis was having fun, Alexander Levy turned back the clock and Eugenio Chacarra paid an unscheduled visit to the Range (Rover).
Here is all you need to know from the second round at the 2026 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
'Might as well have fun'
Casey Jarvis held a two-shot lead over Alexander Levy at the halfway point. The South African, twice a winner in November on the Sunshine Tour, has carried on his good form with rounds of 67 and 65 and said: "I always love coming to Mauritius. I'm just trying to have fun out here this week. I thought 'I'm in Mauritius, I might as well have fun' and yeah, it seems to be working."
Levy back in the swing
Levy lost his DP World Tour card last season but has made the most of a sponsor's invite this week by starting 68-66 to position himself as Jarvis' nearest challenger. The Frenchman, a five-time winner between 2014 and 2018, credited a return to his old swing technique and said: "I worked really hard the last months, after Q School, I worked really hard on my swing. I've got back to what I used to do in the past and it pays off, the first week back I'm in good position." Of course, a chip-in and a monster putt always help matters as well...
Threat index
The par-four 16th played as the hardest hole on the course on Friday, averaging 4.52 or more than half a stroke over par. Only nine players made birdies there - and of those, only Jarvis and Dylan Naidoo were under par for the tournament at the end of the day - while there were seven triple-bogey sevens and one eight. The ninth was not far behind at 4.48 but witnessed one impressive eagle, by Stefano Mazzoli in a remarkable end to his front nine - it was the Italian's second eagle two in four holes, sandwiching a double bogey at the intimidating seventh and a bogey at the par-five eighth.
Beat the bunker
The bunker in the middle of the 13th green is an unusual feature of Heritage La Réserve Golf Links and caused problems for several players. There were some special shots played there as well though...

Mind the windows...
Eugenio Chacarra had a stroke of luck at the 18th, though Range Rover may not have been quite so happy after the Spaniard's drive struck their car parked on a promotional stand short of the green and ricocheted back into play to help set up a closing birdie. Still, no pictures on the scorecard!
