Dubai Invitational - day three digest

Nacho Elvira leads the way, Shane Lowry produces one of the shots of the week and Connor Syme chases the ace.

Everything you need to know from Moving Day at Dubai Creek Resort.

Excellent Elvira shines in Dubai

Elvira kept his cool in breezy conditions to earn a two-shot lead after the third round in Dubai. The Spaniard shared the second-round lead with Lowry at five under, and he negotiated an early bogey with four birdies to card a steady 68 and reach eight under. "I'm very pleased," he said. "It's been a couple of tricky days with the wind. I think I played really decent. So I'm pretty happy with it. I've been here long enough to not be too nervous tomorrow, let's put it that way. I think I'm going to try to enjoy and probably learn from all the experiences that I have in the past and see where that puts me."

Lowry's lovely bunker shot

The Irishman sits two behind after a one-under 70 on Moving Day, thanks to this stunning approach from the fairway bunker at the ninth for one of three birdies in his third round.

Frittelli magic at the last

Dylan Frittelli was flawless in his 66 to sit two shots behind Elvira heading into the final round. He had carded four birdies before getting out of position on the last, but somehow produced this wonder shot for an unlikely final gain.

Syme chases the ace

American Ryggs Johnston recorded the first ace of 2026 at the par-three eighth at Dubai Creek Resort on Friday, and Connor Syme was this close to following suit on Moving Day.

Yang wins amateur event

Geoff Yang was the 2026 Dubai Invitational Team Event Champion following a total of 17 under.

"It's incredible," Yang said. "I've not spent a lot of time in Dubai, it's only my second time, but to experience this place on this occasion and on this beautiful golf course, the tournament is exceeding well run."
