A total of 23 European Tour Members are fully exempt for the forthcoming US Open Championship which takes place at Southern Hills on June 14-17.
With the addition of nine golfers, after three active categories closed, a total of 67 are now fully exempt from qualifying. Frank Lickliter, with his victory at the Kemper Insurance Open this weekend, earned his exemption by a place in the top ten on the 2001 US PGA Tour money list through May 27. Sergio Garcia, Scott Hoch, Toshi Izawa, Bernhard Langer, Rocco Mediate, Dennis Paulson, Eduardo Romero and Duffy Waldorf are exempt by a place in the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings through May 28.
The other active exemption category that closed on May 28 was the top two money-winners from the Volvo Order of Merit. The leaders, Angel Cabrera and Michael Campbell, are already exempt through other categories.
