Our man on the scene in Akron brings you the behind-the-scenes gossips and snippets from the WGC - Bridgestone Invitational....
Just Deserts…..
Good to see that Padraig Harrington is thought of as highly by the media over this side of the Pond as he is back home.
The main reason for that is, not only does the Irishman spend oodles of time with the massed ranks of The Fourth Estate, he also regularly gives them thought-provoking and different ways to look at this odd game of ours. In other words, a good line.
Take his preview interview here in Akron for example. Much is made of his strict practice regime and so the question was put to him, along the lines of, just what lengths would he go to try and improve his game.
His answer? Spend even more time on the range? Switch coaches? Change equipment? Nope. Here is Padraig’s take on it.
“If somebody told me I had to go to a desert island for the next two years and it would definitely improve my game, the hard part would be telling the wife! Then the hard part for her would be telling the kids that we’re moving!”
Superb…..
