Accuracy off the tee reigned over distance at the Moravia Silesia Open presented by ALO Diamonds as the narrow fairways at the Prosper Golf Resort provided a stern challenge for the field.
A glance at the Genworth Financial Statistics shows that Argentine Daniel Vancisk topped the charts for driving distance but finished down in joint 29th at two under, 11 shots behind winner Oskar Henningsson. Englishman Danny Willett was second in distance off the tee but was down in 55th place for accuracy and had to settle for tied 22nd overall.
In contrast, Gareth Maybin was the most accurate with the driver and was in contention all week, eventually finishing tied seventh, while runner-up Sam Little was third in the same category. Little was in form on the greens too, coming ninth in the average putts per round category with 29.
Spaniard Santiago Luna, who came 16th, topped the greens in regulation charts with 84.7% but failed to convert his chances as he averaged 31 putts per round – the 48th best. José Manuel Lara was first with 26.7 putts per round and finished joint seventh.
