Accurate Approach Helps Levet Secure Title

Thomas Levet’’s victory in The Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond was built upon some impressive approach play, notably on the par fives, according to the Reuters Statistics.

Levet captured his third European Tour title with a stunning final round 63 but a closer look at his performance reveals the Frenchman was among the most accurate with his approach play, hitting 79.2% of the greens in regulation, equating to 14.3 greens per round and placing him fourth in this Reuters Statistics category.

He was particularly impressive on the par fives, hitting the long holes in two on five occasions during the week compared to just once for second placed Michael Campbell of New Zealand.

Overall, Levet was five under par for the par fives, seven under for the par fours and three under for the par threes.
