Adam Scott Confirmed for Volvo PGA Championship

Australian Adam Scott, who won The Players Championship at Sawgrass, Florida, in dramatic fashion in March, will seek to complete a unique double by winning the 50th Volvo PGA Championship – universally recognised as the players own championship on The European Tour International Schedule - when he competes at Wentworth Club, Surrey, England, from May 27-30.

The 23 year old from Adelaide, currently 13th in the Official World Golf Ranking, got up and down from just off the green at the 72nd hole of the famous Stadium Course at Sawgrass to edge out Ireland’s Padraig Harrington by a stroke and claim his second title on the US PGA Tour.

Having captured one of the prime events on the US PGA Tour Schedule, Scott now turns his attention to the flagship tournament on The European Tour International Schedule, hoping to pull off a notable ‘double’ at Wentworth Club.

Scott, winner of four European Tour titles since securing his Membership towards the end of his debut season in 2000, will be participating in the Volvo PGA Championship for the fourth time, his best finish being tied 20th last year.

Once again, BBC Television will supply live coverage of all the drama as it unfolds, and anyone wishing to attend can call the ticket hotline on +44 (0) 1782 741 956 to book your place in advance or visit www.europeantour.com for more information on the Championship.
