The teams are chosen from the Official World Ranking (leading available player) and the Volvo Ranking (leading two players not otherwise exempt) as at August 17 after the US PGA Championship.
With the leading player from the Official World Golf Ranking, Lee Westwood for England, Darren Clarke for Ireland and Colin Montgomerie for Scotland, secured and with no Volvo Ranking event this week, the final qualifying teams were decided settled after the German Open.
