All Star Line-up

The United States, who have won three titles, will be represented by; World No.1 Tiger Woods, making his debut in the event, Mark O’Meara, World No.5 and the current Masters and Open champion and John Daly, winner of the 1995 Open Championship over the Old Course at St. Andrews and a member of the victorious 1993 team.

England and Ireland, who have both won the title on two previous occasions, will be led respectively by the current European Nos. 1 and 2 Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke. Scotland, who won the title in 1995, will again be led by Colin Montgomerie, the European No.1 for the past five years and currently ranked 7th in the World. Four of the remaining teams will be captained by former Major champions - Nick Price for Zimbabwe, Steve Elkington for Australia, who won the Alfred Dunhill Cup in 1985 and 1986, José Maria Olazábal for Spain and Bernhard Langer for Germany.

The full line up includes six of the top eight players in the world. The draw will take place in the Alfred Dunhill Pavilion at St. Andrews at 10.30am on Wednesday, October 7.

The teams in the Alfred Dunhill Cup, sponsored by Alfred Dunhill, the leading name in luxury for men, will be drawn into four groups and play “Round Robin” format over the first three days with the leading team in each group going forward to the semi-finals on Sunday morning, October 11, with the 18 hole final in the afternoon.

Prize money will total £1 million with £100,000 going to each member of the winning team.

The Alfred Dunhill Cup will be covered in the UK by Sky Sports with over six hours live action on each of the four days of the Championship and in all will be seen in some 60 countries around the world.
