Some of the world’s leading golfers, including defending champion Rory McIlroy and five-time Open Champion Tom Watson, will be chauffeured in BMW cars to and from the Omega Dubai Desert Classic when The European Tour event gets under way at the Emirates Golf Club from February 1-7.
AGMC — the exclusive importer for BMW Group products in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates – has once again teamed up with ‘golf in DUBAi’, the promoters and organisers of the US$2.5 million event, as the official courtesy cars supplier.
For many years BMW has been associated with sporting ambition and success. Just like its premium-sector products, the company sets high standards in its golfing activities, both as a tournament organiser and as an avid supporter of the game.
“Whether on the golfing green or on the road, BMW ensures that its dynamism and performance are reflected in the world-class events it supports,” said Stathis I Stathis, General Manager, AGMC.
“Our association with golf in DUBAi demonstrates our support to the sporting community in the UAE. Over the last three decades, we have experienced firsthand the remarkable growth of the country in every field,” he said.
Mohamed Juma Buamaim, vice-chairman and CEO of golf in DUBAi, said: “We have enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with BMW and we're delighted to see them back among our loyal family of partners.
“Like BMW, the Omega Dubai Desert Classic is one of the country's most trusted and respected brands. Their support is vital in our drive to promote and organise this world-class event.”
'golf in DUBAi' is backed by Omega as the title sponsor and Dubal (Dubai Aluminium) as the sponsor while BMW, CNN, Emirates Airline, Emirates NBD, Gulf News, Jumeirah Golf Estates, Jumeirah Hotels, MasterCard and wasl are co-sponsors in its drive to showcase the emirate's vibrant golfing scene to a worldwide audience.
