Challenge Tour Member Andrew Buckle of Australia secured his place in the 133rd Open Golf Championship at Royal Troon in July by sharing top spot in the Australasian International Final Qualifying at Kingston Heath, Melbourne.
Buckle, who earned an exemption to the 2004 Challenge Tour by making the halfway cut at the European Tour Qualifying School last November, followed his opening 71 with a five under par 67 to share the top honours with fellow Australian Adam Le Vesconte.
Englishman Matthew Hazelden claimed third place and the last of the four qualifying places went to joint first round leader Brendan Jones of Australia.
The Asian IFQ will take place in March with the last two IFQs in Europe and America taking place in June.
