European Tour Members Angel Cabrera and John Daly were part of a six way tie for the lead at the end of the first round of the Bay Hill Invitational at the Bay Hill Club in Orlando.
Both shot five under par 67s to move into pole position alongside John Huston, Steve Flesch, DA Weibring and World Number One Tiger Woods.
Cabrera was actually at seven under par at one stage and in with a chance of leading outright before he dropped shots at each of the final two holes.
Daly joined the leaders after a typically rollercoaster performance. After finding the water on the 13th to drop a shot, he recovered majestically with an eagle three on the long 16th, holing out from 20 feet after his six iron second had found the green.
Amongst a group of four players tied for seventh after opening 68’s was Spain’s Sergio Garcia whilst last year’s Volvo Order of Merit winner Retief Goosen opened with a one under par 71.
