Cam Smith will play back-to-back events on home soil next season at the BMW Australian PGA Championship and men’s Capital.com Australian Open.
The 2022 Open Championship winner will appear across the double-header – co-sanctioned with the PGA TOUR of Australasia - that is set to headline the start of the 2027 DP World Tour season.
Smith will aim to claim a fourth Joe Kirkwood Cup when the BMW Australian PGA Championship is played in Sydney at The Lakes Golf Club from November 26-29.
A week later, he will look to add the Stonehaven Cup to his list of career achievements when Australia’s national open is held at the world-renowned Kingston Heath Golf Club from December 3-6.
“It’s always a highlight of the year to compete on home soil,” he said.
“The home fans really get behind us and the events we have.”
Last year, Smith finished runner-up in the Australian Open to Denmark’s Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen at Royal Melbourne.
Smith added: “The Australian Open is a tournament I’ve always wanted to win.
“It’s one of those events that every Australian golfer grows up knowing about and to have the chance to lift the Stonehaven Cup would mean a lot.
“I was so close last year at Royal Melbourne. It definitely left me hungry to come back and try again.
“Kingston Heath is an amazing venue and it’s going to be a great test. The course has so much history and rewards smart golf, which makes competing in an Australian Open there even more special.
“The support you get playing at home is something you never take for granted. The fans make these weeks memorable and I’m really looking forward to being part of it.”
