Carlsberg and Audi Among 'Official Partners' to the 2003 Nordic Open

The promoters of the first European Tour event in Denmark, Danish Golf Company, have announced the names of two of their biggest sponsors for the €1.6 million Nordic Open: Carlsberg and Audi.

”I can confirm that we have signed deals with Carlsberg and Audi and everybody associated with the Nordic Open is looking forward to a great working relationship,” said Chief Executive Officer, Anders Sörensen, Danish Golf Company.

Carlsberg and Audi will both become ‘Official Partners’ to the Nordic Open, the first of eight to be named.

“These partnerships, along with a number of Gold Sponsorship commitments, build the financial foundation for the tournament,” added Sörensen.

Ken H Andersen, Director of Marketing for Carlsberg Denmark, said: “Carlsberg is proud to be a main sponsor of the Nordic Open. Carlsberg is heavily into golf and is excited to finally be able to assist in bringing world class golf to our home turf. With the Danish success the past year, I guess you could say that the Nordic Open had to come”.

Audi is equally thrilled about the Nordic Open. “Entering as an Official Partner to the Nordic Open is a natural development for Audi,” said Bente M Klovgaard, Event Manager with Audi. “Along with sponsorships and events that have to do with excellence in driving performances, we have identified golf as our main marketing area.”

Sörensen continued: “The Nordic Open and many other tournaments wouldn’t take place were it not for sponsors like Carlsberg and Audi. We have to give sponsors value for money, for example by closing good television deals. It is important, if golf hopes to keep on prospering.”

The Nordic Open takes place at Simon’s Golf Club from August 7-10, 2003, the first in a three year deal that The Danish Golf Company has signed with The European Tour.
