Clark moves into contention in the Buick Invitational

South African Tim Clark took up the reins of The European Tour challenge for the Buick Invitational on the US PGA Tour when he moved into a share of second place at the halfway stage.

The 30 year old – winner of two titles on The European Tour International Schedule in 2005 – carded a 66 at the Torrey Pines course in San Diego to move alongside Sweden’s Jesper Parnevik on ten under par 134, the duo two shots adrift of leader Brandt Jobe, who added a 67 to his opening 65 for a 12 under par total of 132.

Maintaining The European Tour interest at the top end of the leaderboard was Spain’s Sergio Garcia who moved into a share of fifth place on seven under par 137 after his second round 68.
