South African Tim Clark took up the reins of The European Tour challenge for the Buick Invitational on the US PGA Tour when he moved into a share of second place at the halfway stage.
The 30 year old – winner of two titles on The European Tour International Schedule in 2005 – carded a 66 at the Torrey Pines course in San Diego to move alongside Sweden’s Jesper Parnevik on ten under par 134, the duo two shots adrift of leader Brandt Jobe, who added a 67 to his opening 65 for a 12 under par total of 132.
Maintaining The European Tour interest at the top end of the leaderboard was Spain’s Sergio Garcia who moved into a share of fifth place on seven under par 137 after his second round 68.
