South African Tim Clark is the latest European Tour Member to be invited to the Masters Tournament bringing the total number of Members competing at Augusta National to 25.
Clark, the 2001 South African Open Champion, joins Thomas Levet, Peter Lonard and Justin Rose as a first-time participant at the Masters Tournament.
Invitations have been issued to a further six players to compete in the 2003 Masters following The Players Championship. The addition of these players increases the total invitations to 102. This year's Tournament will be contested from April 7-13.
Clark, Jay Haas, John Huston, Tom Lehman and Kirk Triplett qualified for the Masters Tournament by finishing among the 50 leaders on the Official World Golf Ranking published during the week prior to the 2003 Masters
Chad Campbell also received an invitation after finishing among the ten leaders on the Official PGA Tour Money List published during the week prior to the 2003 Masters:
According to qualifications, Davis Love III, the winner of The Players Championship qualified for a three year invitation to the Masters.
Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, Honorary Members of The European Tour, have also announced they would compete in the 2003 Masters. This year will mark the 49th and 43rd appearances in the Masters Tournament for Palmer and Nicklaus respectively.
