Club Car, the Official Golf Car supplier to The European Tour, has delivered eight new ‘Precedent’’ model cars for The European Tour Rules Officials. Club Car, the leading golf car manufacturer and recognised industry leader in golf vehicle efficiency and performance, provides at least 70 Club Car vehicles at every tournament on The European Tour International Schedule, which runs from January to November each year.
All of the Club Car vehicles are essential to the creation and smooth running of each tournament, and the entourage is divided into 25 cars for the Staging Department, eight cars for the Rules Officials with the remainder used by Television crews.
For the new Rules cars, Club Car has supplied the Precedent model, launched earlier this year. Precedent model offers automotive styling, which gives the car a modern, sleek appearance. The differences go far beyond mere aesthetics. Precedent is stronger and more durable, easier to service, more agile and more comfortable than any golf car before it, which makes it the ideal choice for to use on the European Tour.
Kevin Hart, Business Development Manager for National Accounts at Club Car, is pleased to continue the relationship with The European Tour and knows how essential their role is to each event. He said: “With thousands of people attending each event and millions of viewers watching the drama unfold on TV it is vital that the Tour has the right support for each respective tournament so that they function smoothly and efficiently. Club Car is delighted and proud to assist in this important role.”
David Garland, Director of Tour Operations at The European Tour, took delivery of the vehicles at the recent Volvo PGA Championship at Wentworth Club, where he was able to try them for himself,
He commented: “The golf cars we use on Tour are put to the ultimate test during golf events due to the long working hours and distances we cover. The European Tour needs a golf car it can rely upon and, as the leading brand Club Car provides unprecedented product quality and service. The new rounded shape and design bring the Club Car golf cars right up to date and the enlarged space and improved seating make the cars much more comfortable for our referees.”
Club Car’’s vehicles play an integral part in the production of each European Tour event and as long as the association continues we can all sit back, relax and watch the world’’s greatest golfers play some of the world’’s best courses.
