Colm Smith, Golf Correspondent of the Irish Independent newspaper, has retired after 43 years in journalism.
Colm joined the Independent in 1958, maintaining a family tradition which saw his father spend 25 years as Sports Editor. John Hopkins (right), Chairman of the Association of Golf Writers, paid tribute to Colm before Seve Ballesteros presented him and his wife, Helen, with a Harold Riley sketch on behalf of the AGW during the Volvo Masters Andalucia.
