Grasses
The Brabazon Course feature a wide variety of grasses as follows:
Greens: Bent/Meadowgrass
Fairways: Meadowgrass/Rye/Bent/Fescue
Tees: Rye/Meadowgrass
Rough: Rye/Fescue/Meadowgrass
Fairways
These will be cut to 10mm and are of average width.
Rough
The Semi-Rough is cut to 35mm in 4 metre wide strips and Rough cut to 100mm.
Greens
In general the greens are quite small.
General
Much rain in the weeks leading up to the event combined with warm temperatures recently has led to healthy growth and very green conditions. The course will play long with water coming into play on many key holes, such as 3, 6, 9, 10 & 18. The famous short par 4 10th hole will be played off forward tees for the final two rounds to allow players to go for the green with their tee shots over the water.
