Any specific comments - some of the greens have a lot of slope and false fronts which will make them very challenging

Type of grass - Rye grass

Height of cut - 12mm

General width and contouring - average width

Rough

Type of grass - Rye grass

Height of cut - semi 1.8m wide at 32mm, intermediate 1.8m wide at 64mm, rough maintained at 100mm

Any specific comments - this has been heavily overseeded with Rye grass this year which will produce a tougher test than last year

Weather

Weather in advance - mainly dry and warm

Forecast for tournament - mainly warm and dry with moderate to light winds

Opened - October 2004

Course designer - Neil Haworth of Nelson and Haworth design

Special features - the 16th and 17th holes are played over a water filled, rare quarry, which will be very much in play on the 16th for those players opting to go for the green on this short par 4

General playability - should play tougher than last year with some very strong par 3s

Undulating / flat - some notable changes in elevation on a few holes otherwise only minor undulation

Tree lined / exposed - tree lined

Many / few water hazards - many hazards with water in play on holes 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 13, 14, 16, 17 and 18

Changes to the course - none

Other features

The course is surrounded by a housing complexwith all buildings, including the clubhouse, built with Tuscan style architecture and materials

The course itself features many new and old trees, including thousand year old Ginka trees
