Day One in Numbers - DP World Tour Championship, Dubai

The final Thursday of the season has come and gone and the play at the DP World Tour Championship did not disappoint. Teeing off in Race to Dubai order, the best players from this year battled it out on the Earth Course at Jumeriah Golf Estates with Patrick Reed leading the way after 18 holes.

Here's the best facts and figures from today's first round.

65- Patrick Reed's lowest opening round of 2017. He leads after 18 holes for the fifth time in his career. On the previous four occasions, he finish 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st.

3.4- The American was +3.4 on the field in Strokes Gained Putting, needing just 25 putts in total. Only Andy Sullivan bettered Reed on the greens, gaining 3.9 shots putting.

66- Justin Rose's first round of 66 is his lowest opening round in the DP World Tour Championship in six attempts. It is the second time he has managed to break 70 on Thursday at Jumeriah Golf Estates.

100- Rose hit all 18 greens in his opening round and has hit 33 straight in this event, dating back to 2015.

38- Rose is 38 under par for his last nine rounds on the European Tour, having won in each of his last two starts at the WGC-HSBC Champions and Turkish Airlines Open.

1- Rose's projected Race to Dubai ranking, overtaking Tommy Fleetwood who shot an opening round 73 despite making three birdies and an eagle. As things stand, Rose is over 300,000 points ahead of his fellow countryman, having started the week nearly 260,000 points behind.

66- Per cent chance that Rose now goes on to win the Race to Dubai title, having started the day with at 24 per cent.

14- Shot improvement for Scott Hend in his opening round this week compared to his Thursday score last week. The Australian opened with an eight over par 80 in South Africa but impressed with a six under par 66 this morning.
