Delayed start in Portugal

Round four of the Portugal Masters is due get under way at 1000 after bad weather delayed proceedings at Oceånico Victoria Golf Club.

Windy conditions in Portugal

Play was initially set to begin at 0800 with a shotgun start as inclement conditions were expected to hit the Algarve in the afternoon, with tournament organisers taking all steps possible to maintain a full 72-hole tournament.

But with wet conditions on the course after 25 millimetres of rain overnight and a threat of lightning early in the day, the start was put back two hours with a shotgun format still in place.

An 0800 shotgun start had taken place on Saturday due to the expected poor conditions for just the second time in European Tour history after the final round of the Czech Open in 1994.

Andy Sullivan leads the event by five shots from Eduardo de la Riva after going 64-64-67 over the first three days and is seeking his third European Tour title of the year.
