Derksen’s accurate iron play takes him to second place in Russia

The nearest challenger to Swede Per-Ulrik Johnasson at Le Meridien Moscow Country Club came from a Dutchman whose iron play was extremely accurate.

A glance at the Genworth Financial Statistics for The Russian Open Golf Championship shows that although Robert-Jan Derksen was not the straightest driver over the four days - he ranked 34th for Driving Accuracy - he recovered brilliantly to be ranked second in Greens In Regulation and first in Putts Per Greens In Regulation.

Derksen also produced five Sand Saves from five, which further underlines that it was the Dutchman's short game that ultimately earned him a runner-up finish.
