DID YOU KNOW -  AUSTRALIAN PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

• The Australian PGA Championship was included on the European Tour International Schedule for the first time during the 2016 season.

• The Australian PGA Championship was the eighth different European Tour event to be staged in Australia.

• The Australian PGA Championship was the 27th time The European Tour has played an official event on Australia overall.

• The 2016 Australian PGA Championship was played at RACV Royal Pines Resort, first time a European Tour event has been to the state of Queensland.

• Nathan Holman won the event back in December 2015, beating Dylan Frittelli and Harold Varner III in a three-man play-off. This represented the first three man play-off since The Open Championship of 2015 featuring Zach Johnson, Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman.

• Nathan Holman’s winning total of 288 was the highest aggregate to win on the European Tour during the 2016 season.

• The Australian PGA Championship, dates back to 1905. The winner will receive the Joe Kirkwood Cup. The first was Dan Soutar from Scotland.

• Kel Nagle has the honour of winning the event the most times, on six different occasions.

• The last European to win the event was David Howell in 1998.

• Ten Major Champions have won the Australian PGA Championship.
