• This is the first year of this event and is one of five new events on The European Tour International Schedule for 2014.
• Glenmarie Golf and Country Club is being used for the first time for European Tour competition. The Garden Course is the one which is going to be used and was opened in 1993.
• The very first event co-sanctioned between The European and Asian Tour was the Malaysian Open, back in 1999.
• Prior to being turned into a golf complex, Glenmarie was the home of Glenmarie Rubber Estates.
