DID YOU KNOW – FACTS ABOUT THE 2015 MASTERS TOURNAMENT

·         There will be 37 European Tour Members playing this year.

·         Of those 37, five are making their first appearance. They are: Brooks Koepka, Anirban Lahiri, Shane Lowry, Bernd Wiesberger and Danny Willett.

·         The current field size is 99, the largest since 2011, when 99 also competed.

·         Of those 99, 54 are international players. This total is second highest, behind the 55 in 2009.

·         There are 25 different countries represented. This is a new Masters Tournament record for the number of different countries in the same Masters.

·         Of the 25 non- American countries, Australia and South Africa have the most with six apiece, followed by England and South Korea, both with five.

·         Tom Watson is the oldest player competing, aged 65 years and 217 days. This will be the 2014 American Ryder Cup Captain’s 42ndappearance at Augusta National.

·         Ben Crenshaw will have the honour of the player in the field with most starts, the 1984 and 1995 Champion will be teeing it up for the 44thtime.

·         Sandy Lyle will extend his record for the most appearances by a European Tour Member. The 2015 event will be his 34th. The Scotsman has played every year since 1985.

·         History will be made in this year’s Masters Tournament with Bernd Wiesberger becoming the first Austrian to compete. This brings the total number of different countries to have played at Augusta to 39.

·         There are 19 Masters Champions competing. Between them they have won a total of 29 Green Jackets.

·         All of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking are competing, along with 32 Major Champions and 43 Ryder Cup players.
