The TCL Classic is part of The European Tour International Schedule for the second time, following Paul Casey’s victory in 2005
The TCL Classic was first played in 2002 and won by Colin Montgomerie at Harbour Plaza GC
The TCL Classic is the eighth European Tour International Schedule event to be staged on mainland China.
Defending Champion, Paul Casey has an excellent record in China.Two of his five European Tour International Schedule in China – the 2005 TCL Classic and 2006 Volvo China Open. He was also seventh in the 2006 HSBC Champions tournament.
There are a number of Members who have won in China and are playing this week. They are: Marcus Both. Casey, David Howell Terry Pilkadaris, Charlie Wi and Lian-Wei Zhang
The other event to be staged at the Yalong Bay Golf Club is the Sanya Open in 2003 and 2004
