European Tour Member Luke Donald of England was among 15 players who successfully earned a place in the 133rd Open Golf Championship at Royal Troon from July 15-18, progressing through International Final Qualifying at Congressional CC, Maryland, in the United States.
Donald shot rounds of 70 and 67 for 36 hole total of 137 to qualify right on the mark for a place in the Open Championship field.
European Tour winners Mathias Grönberg and Carl Pettersson, who was on the leaderboard at the halfway stage of the 2002 Open Championship at Muirfield, shared the top spot on 134, nine-under-par, with American Spike McRoy.
