European Tour Member Luke Donald of England shot a final round of 67, four under par, for a seven under par total of 277 to finish tied third in the Cialis Western Open at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club, Lemont, Illinois, lifting him to ten places to 13th in the Ryder Cup World Points List.
Donald , a local favourite who attended Northwestern, equaled the best round of the final day as he finished three strokes adrift of Trinidad and Tobago’’s Stephen Ames, who won his maiden US PGA Tour title.
American Steve Lowery shot a final round of 70 to finish two strokes behind Ames. Though he missed out on his first victory since 2000, he did earn an exemption to the 133rd Open Golf Championship as the lowest finisher not previously exempt.
