Bradley Dredge will return to the scene of his season-changing performance when he heads back to the D+D REAL Czech Masters at Albatross Golf Resort in Prague this week.
The Welshman was runner-up in the inaugural edition 12 months ago, capping a wonderful fortnight during which he guaranteed regaining his full playing rights on The European Tour.
Playing on a limited exemption after losing his card in 2012, Dredge knew he would have far fewer opportunities to play Race to Dubai events in 2014, but he took full advantage with two impressive displays.
Having finished runner-up in the Made in Denmark, he matched that result in the Czech Republic the following week to ultimately take 81st place in The Race to Dubai, ensuring he would have a full exemption for 2015.
“Those two weeks were massively important,” said Dredge, who once again heads to Prague on the back of a fine performance in Denmark, having finished tied sixth last week. “When you don’t have a full card you really have to make the most of the tournaments you do get into, so it was very pleasing that I managed to do that.
“I was playing well and my game was in good shape, so it wasn’t a huge shock that I was in contention. In Denmark and in the Czech Republic, though, I didn’t quite play well enough on the weekend, losing out to Marc Warren and Jamie Donaldson.
“Hopefully there’s something about that place that’s lucky for me – we’ll see this week.”
Dredge is joined by Ryder Cup team-mate Frenchman Victor Dubuisson in the Czech Republic, and a strong field also contains in-form Englishmen James Morrison, winner of the Open de Espana in May and David Horsey, who won the Made in Denmark last week.
