Ireland’s Damien McGrane came close to claiming his maiden European Tour title in the EMAAR-MGF Indian Masters when he finished second to SSP Chowrasia at the Dehli Golf Club.
McGrane’s bid for the title was built on accuracy off the tee and some sublime putting over the final 18 holes, as revealed by the Genworth Financial Statistics. With a 75% success rate in the Driving Accuracy category, the second best of the final day, McGrane laid the foundations for a solid final round and he then putted magnificently by leading the Putts per Round Category with just 28 putts and occupying second place in Putts per Greens in Regulation, averaging 1.689 putts. But he dropped to 19th on the Greens in Regulation category, hitting 65.3% of greens, which would have dented his chances of victory.
