An eagle at the 518 yard par five 18th hole gave James Kingston a grandstand finish to his opening round at the Nissan Irish Open at Carton House GC in Co Kildare. It also took him into the joint lead of the Red Bull Final 5 competition.
The South African’s three at the last propelled him to the head of the hunt to become the Final 5 Champion. The Red Bull Final 5 Champion will win 10,000 ‘air miles’ on a private jet to transport him, family and friends as
he competes on The European Tour this season.
Joining him on three under par for the Red Bull Final 5 are Simon Wakefield, Pelle Edberg, Brett Rumford, Richard Finch and Peter O’Malley.
The Red Bull Final 5 Champion will be the best player over the final five holes across all four days of the Nissan Irish Open.
