Johan Edfors battled heavy rain in The 3 Irish Open at County Louth to reach the turn in level par and establish a one shot lead – as many players suffered in tough conditions.
There were those who continued to make good headway, however. England’s Oliver Wilson moved to seven under and into a share of second place.
Wilson, doubtful earlier in the week because of neck trouble, had birdies at the tenth and 12th and would have been level with Edfors at the top of the leaderboard but for a bogey in between.
Overnight leader Francesco Molinari handed over top spot to Swede Johan Edfors by double bogeying the 442 yard 12th.
Edfors covered his first nine holes in level par and had company when Wilson managed his third birdie of the morning on the 332 yard 14th, but followed it with a bogey.
