European Tour Weekly travels to Korea for the Ballantine’s Championship this week. The event has attracted a star studded field that includes the likes of Ernie Els, Henrik Stenson and Anthony Kim. The Pinx Golf Club on Jeju Island plays host and as always we will report all the latest news from the range.
In a special feature to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Ballantine’s golf tournament, ETW met up with former winners Neil Coles and Graeme McDowell at Wentworth Golf Club to put modern-day golf clubs to the test against equipment first used half a century ago. ETW spoke to both Neil, who was the winner of the second Ballantine’s Golf Tournament in 1961 and Graeme, winner in 2008 about the day and their respective wins.
Our review comes from the Volvo China Open and ETW will bring you the best of the action from Suzhou Jinji Lake Golf Club.
Paired alongside each other for the first two rounds in China were the two 2010 Ryder Cup Captains, Colin Montgomerie and Corey Pavin. In an exclusive interview European Tour Weekly speaks to them both about how their preparations are going ahead of October’s Ryder Cup matches. ETW also pays a visit to The Celtic Manor Resort to check on the progress of the course where Europe will look to win back the trophy that the United States team won in 2008.
Together with all of the latest news and statistics from the Tour this completes another edition of European Tour Weekly.
