Thomas Björn of Denmark won his eighth PGA European Tour title when he beat off the challenge of Englishmen Brian Davis and David Howell to capture The Daily Telegraph Dunlop Masters after a tense sudden-death play-off at the Marriott Forest of Arden. Björn, who shot a final round of 68 for a total of 284, ensured he finished as top POOL C pick earning his fans 417,753 fantasy points.
Brian Davis, who also shot a fine final round of 68 and endured the heartbreak of losing out in the play-off, finished in tied second place and as top POOL B pick earning his supporters 217,701 fantasy points.
New Zealand’’s Michael Campbell, who led by three strokes at the end of the third round, had to settle for fourth position after finishing with a slightly disappointing 73 for a total of 283 and -5. Campbell though finished as top POOL A pick with 125,327 fantasy points.
The top position in POOL D was shared by Gary Murphy of Ireland and Robert Karlsson of Sweden who finished in a tie for 11th place after carding totals of 287. Both players earned their fans 40,956 fantasy points. In a tie for 11th place with Murphy and Karlsson was the top pick in POOL E, Johan Skold of Sweden, who also earned his fans 40,956 fantasy points.
Team of the Week went to "Meady’’s Birdie Blitz" managed by Martin Meade, who earned an impressive 760,781 fantasy points from a possible total of 842,693.
