Stephen Gallacher finally found himself in the winners circle last week at the dunhill links championship. A fine round of 67 on the Old Course at St.Andrews forced the Scot in to a play-off with Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell.
After a fine approcah to 3 ft on the first playoff hole, McDowell could only find the water from a wretched lie in a divot, leaving local favourite Gallacher to claim his first European Tour victory, and earn his fans 645,162 fantasy points as the top pick from Pool C. McDowell earned 430,106 for his fans as a worthy runner up and the best performer from Pool B.
Luke Donald continued his fine recent form last week, leading by two after the third round. A final round 71 meant he missed a playoff spot by one shot, finishing once gain as the best pick from Pool D and earning 217,936 fantasy points.
Fellow Ryder Cup player and defending champion, England's Lee Westwood, threatened to repeat last year's performance in the early stages of the final round, but a 67 was eventually good enough for a share of fifth place to earn his fans 149,807 as the top pick from Pool A. Gordon Brand Jnr played solid golf all week and a final score of seven under par was good enough for a share of 44th place and the top spot in Pool E, earning the Scot 18,581 fantasy points for his fans.
Team of the Week was David Ritchie's team "Norfolk'n Chance" who earned an exceptional 1,075,268 points from a possible total of 1,461,591.
