Jean-Francois Remesy capped off a fantastic week to become the first French winner of the French National Title since Jean Garaialde in 1969. A battling final round of 71 eventually saw the Frenchman win by seven shots, and earnt his fans an impressive 500,000 fantasy points as the top pick from Pool C.
Australian Richard Green traded shots with Remesy for a large part of the final round, eventually falling away, but capping off a fantastic week in a share for second place, and earning 260,565 fantasy points as the top pick from Pool D.
Miguel Angel Jimenez continued his fine form in 2004 and finished the weekend in fine style with a 68 and 69 respectively on Saturday and Sunday. His share of eigth place earnt his fans 71,100 fantasy points as top Pool A pick, and sustains his current third place on the 2004 Volvo Order of Merit.
German young-gun, Marcel Siem, shared eighth place with Jimenez and also earned his fans 71,100 fantasy points after a solid performance all week. He finished as the top pick from Pool B and moves up to 26th place on the Volvo Order of Merit.
Damian McGrane earned his largest cheque of 2004 so far, finishing in a share for 18th place as the top pick from Pool E.
Team of the Week was team "Get in the Hole!" managed by Graeme Womack, who earned a fantastic 863,165 fantasy points from a possible 938,365. This result thrust Mr. Womack's team in to second place overall, and in the hunt for the fabulous season prize of a luxury holiday to Dubai.
Our June Manager of the Month prize goes to Richard Blackshaw's "Pussy Woods" team, earning Mr. Blackshaw a TaylorMade rac Black wedge. The four June League runners-up were Hefin Evans, Graeme Womack, Oliver Khan and Peter Lee, who all win a dozen balls courtesy of TaylorMade and Maxfli Golf.
