It’s a landmark week on the European Tour as Le Golf National plays host to the 100thOpen de France. Our stats guru called it spot on last week when selecting Henrik Stenson as one of his tips and is back to help your Fantasy team earn more points this time around.
Pick of the Favourites: Martin Kaymer
View player profile
It's hard not to pick Martin Kaymer as a potential winner of this week's Open de France given his highly impressive record in the event - and at Le Golf National. In nine previous appearances on L'Albatros, the German has only twice finished lower than 13th place including a win in 2009 and five top tens. The 31 year old is still the reigning course record holder, too, thanks to a sublime 62 on his way to victory here seven years ago, so he clearly knows his way around the 2018 Ryder Cup course. Despite not having won on the European Tour in more than two years, Kaymer has shown glimpses of his best form in recent times with three top ten finishes in his last four starts so don't be surprised if the Dusseldorf native is knocking on the door come Sunday evening in Versailles.
The Form Horse: Bernd Wiesberger

Since returning to European soil in 2016, Bernd Wiesberger seems to have found a formula for consistency, finishing in the top 15 three times in his last four events. In his second tournament back on the continent this year, the Austrian took a share of 15th at the BMW PGA Championship and followed it with a tie for tenth on his return to the Lyoness Open as defending champion. Upon arrival back in Europe after his sixth US Open Championship, Wiesberger claimed a share of seventh in Germany last week to maintain his fine form. Add to the mix his three-shot victory here 12 months ago, and the fact he hasn't finished outside the top 20 in his last three starts at Le Golf National, and Wiesberger could be one of the best placed men to triumph this week.
Wild Card: James Morrison
View Player Profile
Perhaps not the most outlandish of wild card picks, granted, but James Morrison could be an outsider in with a shot of hoisting the Stoiber Cup this week at Le Golf National. The Englishman fired rounds of 71-68-68-67 en route to a runner-up finish behind Wiesberger 12 months ago and has another Open de France top ten to his name, secured in 2011. Morrison's form has been solid in 2016, too, with three top ten finishes (two inside the top five!) in his last eight starts.
