Fantasy Three to Watch in Germany

From Oakmont to Cologne, we're in Germany for the BMW International Open and a strong field set to tee it up at the Golf Club Gut Laerchenhof. Our stats guru has picked himself up after a poor performance at the US Open and has vowed to help your Fantasy teams this week with these three picks.

Pick of the Favourites: Henrik Stenson

Henrik Stenson on the second hole during the third round

Henrik Stenson's US Open campaign was short lived as he was forced to withdraw with a minor neck injury. He's back in action this week, feeling good and will hope to continue some impressive form that has seen him finish in the top six in four of his last six starts on the European Tour, including a fourth place finish in his home event at the Nordea Masters. Stenson won this event in 2006 and finished runner up last time it was played at Golf Club Gut Laerchenhof. Having improved his Putts Per Green in Regulation ranking from 90th to sixth this season, expect to see the Swede in contention this weekend.

The Form Horse: Rikard Karlberg

Rikard Karlberg

Less than four weeks after picking up the biggest cheque of his career, following a runner-up finish at the BMW PGA Championship, Rikard Karlberg arrives at another BMW event full of confidence. The Swede arrives in Germany on the back of six straight top 25 finishes which includes three straight top tens. Karlberg, who leads the Tour in par three scoring this season, has been working hard on his swing in recent months and the fruits of his labour are evident. He is eighth in scoring average this season and whilst this is his first start at this course, that wouldn't bother him having picked up his first European Tour win last season on his first visit to Golf Club Milano at the Italian Open.

The Wild Card: Fabrizio Zanotti

Fabrizio Zanotti

He may not be defending the title this week but Fabrizio Zanotti did win the BMW International Open last time it was held at Golf Club Gut Laerchenhof in 2014. The Paraguan held off the likes of Henrik Stenson, Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Danny Willett to win in a playoff for his first European Tour victory. He will welcome a return to Cologne and arrives on the back of two top ten finishes in his last four starts. Zanotti ranks ninth in Driving Accuracy this season and will hope to continue that kind of accuracy around a tight layout this week.
