From France to Scotland, we’re back at Castle Stuart Links for the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open. Hosting the event for the first time since 2013, it will welcome a strong field the week prior to The Open and our statistics guru has selected three players you may want to add to your Fantasy teams this week.
Pick of the Favourites: Branden Grace

Having moved into the top ten in the world for the first time this week, Branden Grace is clearly in good form ahead of his fifth appearance at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open. The South African finished runner up here last time the event was held at Castle Stuart and those memories mixed with some impressive form this season will have the South African top of many people’s lists of contenders this week. Four top tens in his last five starts, including a win, show the type of form the 28 year old is in. He currently ranks inside the top 25 on Tour in Stroke Average, Driving Distance, Greens in Regulation, Putts per Green in Regulation and Sand Saves. Having won on links before, at the 2012 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, Grace will be hoping to tie his good friend and countryman Louis Oosthuizen with an eighth win on The European Tour.
The Form Horse: Raphaël Jacquelin

Having finished runner-up to Rickie Fowler last year at this event, Raphaël Jacquelin will be keen to go one better this year in Inverness. This week marks his 19th start at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, a history that includes five top tens. The 42 year old struggled somewhat last season with just two top tens in 29 starts but has shown signs recently of the sort of form that has seen the Lyon native win four times on Tour. Two top tens in his last three starts and a top 25 at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open have the smooth-swinging Frenchman primed for another good finish in Scotland.
Wild Card: Nicolas Colsaerts
View Player Profile
Like Jacquelin, Nicolas Colsaerts is back in good form arriving in Scotland this week. The Belgian has struggled somewhat since his heroics at Medinah in the Ryder Cup in 2012 but six top 25 finishes in his last seven starts, including two top threes, show just how talented the 33 year is. Castle Stuart should fit his game with generous landing areas off the tee meaning he can attack with his prodigious length. That distance mixed with an approach game that ranks in the top ten on Tour in Greens in Regulation this season should serve the two-time European Tour winner well. In his last three appearances here, Colsaerts has finished 3rd, 36th and 8th and is 35 under par for his last 12 rounds.
