Under the toughest conditions of the week so far, two under par was the lowest score on the Red Bull Final 5 during the third round of The Daily Telegraph Damovo British Masters, after three under par scores during the first two rounds.
Of the six players who carded two under par on Saturday, England’’s Barry Lane had the broadest smile. His storming finish with birdies on the 17th and 18th left him one shot off the lead for the tournament at ten under par. The result means an extra £2,000 will be donated to Sport Relief, taking the total for the tournament to £8,000.
Australia’’s Nick O’’Hern also scored two under par on the Final 5 and shot into the lead on the Final 5 for the tournament with an accumulative score of five under par. He will have to card six under par on the final day if he is to win Red Bull’’s extra £10,000 donation to Sport Relief. This is achievable for any player scoring more than ten under par on the Final 5 across the four rounds of the event.
The other players who shot the leading Final 5 score were Spain’’s Miguel Angel Martin and Carlos Rodiles, South Africa’’s Martin Maritz and Dutchman Robert-Jan Derksen.
