Matt Fitzpatrick’s victory in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, had the added bonus of lifting him into the top ten of the Race to Dubai to claim part of the $5million Bonus Pool.
Fitzpatrick’s win at Jumeirah Golf Estates catapulted him from 27th to sixth in the Race to Dubai Rankings presented by Rolex, earning him an additional €350,000 to cap a magnificent day.
The $5million Bonus Pool was shared among the final top ten on the season, with Fitzpatrick and Bernd Wiesberger, who climbed two places to ninth on the Race to Dubai after finishing joint fourth in the DP World Tour Championship, both capitalising right at the end.
Henrik Stenson’s season’s earnings were boosted by the $1,250,000 bonus he received for finishing European Tour Number One, with Danny Willett earning a $750,000 bonus at the end of his stellar season.
Alex Noren held on to third for a $600k bonus while Tyrrell Hatton’s runner-up finish in Dubai lifted him above Rory McIlroy in the final standings, earning him a $500k bonus to McIlroy’s $400k.
Fitzpatrick, Branden Grace, Rafa Cabrera Bello, Wiesberger and Louis Oosthuizen completed the final top ten of the season.
