Four Up Fraser leads the Final 5 at Loch Lomond

Four consecutive birdies on his closing four holes shot Marcus Fraser to the top of the leaderboard after the first day of The Barclays Scottish Open and left him the clear winner in the daily Red Bull Final 5 competition.

The Australian’’s birdies at holes six to nine (He started his round at the tenth) means that Red Bull will be donating £4,000 to Sport Relief, £1,000 for every shot under par by the leading player. When asked about his performance down the closing stretch he said: “Everything came to fruition as I was finishing and I managed to stay with it.”

Phillip Price, joint leader of the tournament, shot three consecutive birdies over his Final 5 holes. Price is one of the best players over the final five holes this season, and currently holds the record total of five under par, which he carded during the second round of the Volvo PGA Championship.

Fraser’’s score puts him in the driving seat to obtain Red Bull’’s jackpot donation to Sport Relief. For every player who betters ten under par over the Final 5 for the tournament, Red Bull will donate £10,000 to Sport Relief. The £4,000 raised by Fraser takes the total Red Bull donation to Sport Relief to £31,000.
