Angel Gallardo was rewarded for his services to Spanish golf at the Royal Spanish Golf Federation’s annual awards ceremony this week.
The former European Tour player and one of the most respected figures in the European game over the past four decades, recently announced he will step down as Vice Chairman of the European Tour Board of Directors at the end of the year before taking a role as an Ambassador for the tour.
The Barcelona native was handed a Special Achievement Award by Gonzago Escauriaza, the President of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, in recognition of his contribution to the game of golf in Spain throughout his long and successful career in the game, both on and off the course.
